What to Expect From Your business Process Automation Tool in The Future

We are busy working on FlowWright v10, our key focus for this version is the following:

  • Performance
  • New features
  • Upgrades to existing functionality

Over the last 8 years, FlowWright performance has continuously improved, added new features, and incorporated new technologies and algorithms to stay at the leading edge of business process automation. Experience has informed better ways to do things - and these improvements are all incorporated into the next version of FlowWright version 10.0 which will be released in early 2023.

Where FlowWright 9.12 is built with both .NET standard and .NET core, FlowWright v10 is developed wholly using Microsoft .NET Core. .NET Core itself has seen significant performance improvements that will result in improved performance of FlowWright software engines, the FlowWright user interface, and the graphics engine. Migrating to .Net core is essential for our customers who need to stay near the leading edge of technology and far away from unsupported and obsolete technologies. .NET Core performance benchmarks show a 60%+ performance improvement in FlowWright compared to .NET Standard.

FlowWright 10.0 will include over 100+ enhancements. FlowWright’s development roadmap has been driven by a combination of customer requirements and by vision for where business process automation will be in the future. Our customers have demanding business process automation use cases and staying ahead of customer needs is our primary focus.

By analyzing this customer feedback, the FlowWright team has discovered opportunities to optimize FlowWright for efficiency and performance. Version 10.0 will include new and redesigned algorithms to achieve further gains in efficiency and performance. Some algorithm changes will be implemented for the following functional areas:

  • Process Engines
  • Graphics Engines
  • Archival
  • Storage

FlowWright’s engines are able to process millions of workflows per unit time - regardless of complexity. Algorithms manage how child processes are launched, how a processes are executed, and manage multi-tenant processing without tenant deficiency. These algorithms will be made more efficient - and also will make use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning where beneficial. Remember every time you execute a process, you collect data that can be used effectively by AI/ML to make accurate predictions and better decisions.

Large, complex workflow processes can affect performance and storage.

FlowWright v10 will use more efficient mechanisms to compress and store archival data. Even though storage is cheap today, performance is not, and storage affects performance. FlowWright will continue to focus on making storage more efficient to achieve better performance.

As we make these enhancements, we are also working to keep FlowWright compatible with older versions. If you have added your own extensions to FlowWright, then these extensions might need a recompile (since Namespaces and APIs have been renamed) but otherwise upgrading to version 10.0 will be smooth sailing for FlowWright customers.

FlowWright v10.0 will offer customers a chance at enhanced functionality that is fit for modern day needs. Release date will be in 2023 so stay tuned in the coming months for more information on how to access v10.0.
